Connect it in three steps
Create the key

Paste it in opix

Keys & setup
| Environment variable | Required |
|---|---|
| OPENAI_API_KEY | Yes |
Create a key at platform.openai.com/api-keys. Usage is billed to your OpenAI account; the key stays on the opix gateway and is never exposed to the app.
Honest by default
Apps built with opix never pretend. Without a key, AI features keep running on built-in opix AI credits through the gateway; once connected, requests are billed to your OpenAI account instead.
