Enable the APIs you need (Maps Embed, Static Maps, Geocoding) in Google Cloud Console and restrict the key. It is used server-side; interactive draggable JS maps are a later wave.
Honest by default
Apps built with opix never pretend. Without a key, the app renders a designed address card with an 'Open in Google Maps' link (which needs no key) — never an empty gray box.
