Credits, plans & packs

How opix pricing actually works: real-usage metering, visible per-build costs, $0 failed builds, plans from $29, and one-time packs that never expire.

Two pools

opix meters two separate things:

  • Build credits pay for building your app — every chat turn that writes code.
  • AI credits pay for AI features inside your published app (chatbots, summarizers) through the opix AI gateway. They're much cheaper per unit and only matter if your app itself uses AI.

What a build costs

Build turns are charged from real usage — after each turn, the trust footer shows the exact credit cost and your remaining balance. Nothing is hidden in an allowance.

Before a turn starts, opix checks your balance against a pre-flight estimate so you're never surprised mid-build: roughly 4 credits for Auto and Low turns, ~6 for Medium, ~8 for High, and ~10 for Max. Typical standard builds land in the 4–10 credit range; small tweaks cost much less. Plan mode turns are a flat 1 credit.

Failed builds are always free. If a turn fails, you pay nothing. Automatic type-repair and self-check fixes never cost credits either — the $0-failure policy is enforced at billing time, not by goodwill.

Free to try

New accounts get 5 one-time welcome credits plus 3 more after email verification, and 100 trial AI credits for gateway features. There is no free subscription tier — but the welcome credits are enough to build and judge a real app.

Plans

  • Starter — $29/month, 120 credits/month.
  • Pro — $59/month, 300 credits/month.
  • Business — $129/month, 750 credits/month.

Each plan has a volume ladder — pick more monthly credits at the same rate, with discounts up to 10% at the top steps (Starter scales to 2,000 credits/month, Business to 12,000). Yearly billing charges 10 months for 12 — credits are still granted monthly. Full ladder on the pricing page.

Packs never expire

One-time credit packs — $10 for 30, $25 for 85, $50 for 190 — sit in your account until used. No monthly clock, no subscription required, and a plan downgrade never wipes purchased packs. AI-credit packs work the same way: $5 for 500, $20 for 2,000.

Where to see everything

Settings → Usage & billing shows your balance, a full ledger of every grant and charge, and your plan controls. Ledger entries name the power tier that ran — never internal model identifiers.
