Zero API keys

Ask for an AI chatbot, a summarizer, a product-description generator — opix wires the feature to the built-in opix AI gateway. Your app calls the gateway from its own server routes; there is no key to create, paste, or leak. Streaming responses are supported out of the box.

Your app picks between two aliases — fast (cheap and quick, the default) and smart (stronger reasoning) — and opix routes each to an appropriate model.

Metered in AI credits

Gateway usage bills against your workspace's AI-credit pool — separate from build credits and far cheaper per unit (1 AI credit = $0.01). Every workspace gets 100 one-time trial AI credits, so AI features work the moment they're built.

Guardrails are built in:

• Each app has a daily cap (default 300 AI credits per day), so a traffic spike or an abusive visitor can't silently drain your balance.
• Requests are rate-limited and input-capped.
• Usage per day is visible under Settings → Usage & billing.

Need more? One-time AI packs ($5 for 500, $20 for 2,000) never expire.

Bring your own key

Connect your own OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Anthropic key under Connectors and gateway traffic routes upstream on your key instead — no AI-credit charge at all. The rate limits and input caps stay on.

Security detail worth knowing: BYO AI keys are gateway-only. They are never injected into your generated app's environment and never appear in its code — so even a prompt-injected or buggy app cannot exfiltrate your provider key.
